An alternative treatment for psoriasis is detoxification. This treatment may just be the solution that you need to keep your skin disorder under control. According to naturopathic doctors, treating psoriasis helps by treating your liver. Psoriasis has been linked to the presence of several microbial byproducts in the blood. These signs point to an abnormal function of the liver.

When psoriasis is extensive then ultraviolet light treatment or phototherapy is used on patients. Phototherapy involves exposure of the skin to wavelengths of ultraviolet light under medical supervision. Ultraviolet light B (UVB) is an effective form of ultraviolet radiation for treating psoriasis. It is present in natural sunlight and penetrates the skin. Best Psoriasis Supplement

Have you ever wondered what the main ingredient is in Dead Sea natural skin care products? Find out how Magnesium plays an important role in keeping your skin young.

Since the days of Cleopatra, people have experienced or heard of the healing powers of the Dead Sea. It is believed that a primary reason for this is Psoriasis Supplement, psoriasis nutritionbecause of the dense accumulation of magnesium in the Dead Sea waters. Magnesium or Mg is prevalent in many products made with Dead Sea minerals and can be used as an over the counter option in alleviating many conditions that effect our skin. Magnesium has many other beneficial applications to our body, our food, the fertilizer we use… but we want to focus here on it’s topical benefits to our skin.

Allergic Reactions:
Magnesium has an ability to cleanse your skin and detoxify the entire epidermis. Specifically, areas where you might be experiencing allergic reactions can be relieved or eliminated.

Anti Aging – Anti Wrinkle:
Magnesium is an ion essential to all living cells. When areas particularly around your eyes and face are treated, studies show that many people see a significant reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. The presence of this element enhances the natural hydration of your skin and encourages the production of collagen already present in your skin cells. Many people can also see a significant reduction in the depth of wrinkling.

Acne:
Same as the positive effects that magnesium has on allergic reactions, using magnesium based products for cleansing your skin in areas where acne is present or prone to immerge will help in fighting this hormonal reaction by your skin.

Psoriasis & Eczema:
The National Psoriasis Foundation outlines one of their treatment recommendations as using the sun and water therapy from the Dead Sea. See their site at www.psoriasis.org. These are extremely common skin conditions. Healing of these areas on your body and often be healed very quickly with proper application. In addition to reducing roughness and skin inflammation, we found a study that outlined the benefits to these same patients in their ability to sleep better.

Magnesium encompases roughly 2% of the earth’s crust. If this is so, why do we continue to focus on these minerals found in the dead sea? Mg is the third most plentiful element dissolved in seawater. And in the Dead Sea it is known to be the richest and healthiest of all waters.

Unlike no other body of water, the Dead Sea contains no living microorganisms. This includes no seaweed, plants or fish of any kind. Also, because of it’s elevation being below sea level, a much higher concentration of Magnesium exists that any other body of water on the earth. The Dead Sea contains a 33% concentration of salts and minerals compared to only 3% in the ocean.

Treatments:
If you have the means and ability to travel to the Dead Sea, it is chocked full of Clinics and spas that use a combination of exposure to the waters of the Dead Sea along with the healing benefits of the sun. If you aren’t able to go this route many seek professional help from dermatologists. A much less expensive option that has proven highly beneficial is by using over the counter masks, lotions and minerals made from Dead Sea minerals including but not limited to Magnesium.

The natural treatment of using magnesium in topical products is suitable for all people including children and pregnant women with very few contraindications. The striking effectiveness of this treatment and the fact that it is more cost effective than many other treatments makes it a very popular alternative.

Water also cleanses wastes and toxins out of the body via the urinary tract and this eases the burden on the skin to excrete them. Fiber is important for overall health. Along with water, fiber helps keep the system clean. Fiber also helps to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol. Good sources of fiber are whole grains, vegetables, oatmeal and nuts.

Psoriasis Skin Conditions

Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition. More than seven million Americans suffer with psoriasis, a chronic skin disorder characterized by an Psoriasis Skin Conditions, psoriasis supportoverproduction of skin cells that result in flaky and patchy raised areas on the

skin’s surface. The patches are usually found on the arms, legs, trunk, or scalp but may be found on any part of the skin. The most typical areas are the knees and elbows. Psoriasis can begin at any age but usually starts either around the age of 20 or between 50 and 60. Psoriasis is not contagious and cannot be passed from one person to another, but it is most likely to occur in members of the same family.

Causes

The majority of affected people have relatively mild psoriasis symptoms. Still, psoriasis at its worst can be painful, disfiguring and disabling. Psoriasis can be triggered by a number of factors, such as stress, climate changes, streptococcal or HIV infection, superficial wounds, physical illness, or taking certain drugs such as lithium, beta-blockers such as propranolol, quinidine (a heart medication) or antimalarial medications.

Symptoms

Patches of red, inflamed skin, often covered with loose, silver-colored scales. These patches may be itchy and painful and sometimes crack and bleed. In severe cases, the patches of irritated skin will grow and merge into one another, covering large areas. The patches don’t always itch and are painless unless they crack or become infected, but many children are upset by the appearance of the psoriasis. If the nails are affected they may be thickened with tiny pits in the surface, and occasionally there is arthritis in the joints.

Treatment

Treatments applied directly to the skin are sometimes effective in clearing psoriasis. Doctors find that some patients respond well to sunlight, steroid ointments, medicines made from vitamin D3, coal tar, or anthralin.

Biologic drugs are taken from living material (human, plant, animal, or microorganism). They act on parts of the body’s immune system to prevent inflammatory disorders, including psoriasis. These work by blocking the activity of TNF, the primary cytokine involved in psoriasis. Alefacept (Amevive) and efalizumab (Raptiva) are T-cell blockers and block the overactive T-cells.

By themselves, moisturizing creams won’t heal psoriasis, but they can reduce itching and scaling and can help combat the dryness that results from other therapies. Moisturizers that are heavy and oily are usually more effective than lighter lotions.

Artificial UV light therapy and oral or injectable medications are reserved for more moderate to severe cases of psoriasis and may have a higher occurrence of side effects. The type of psoriasis and the severity of the psoriasis will help the doctor determine the best treatment approach.

The so-called Doctor Fish spas first appeared in Turkey, where people suffering from a terrible skin disease called psoriasis, from all around the world started coming for treatment.

The Causes Of Psoriasis

Psoriasis (pronounced /s ra s s/) (suh-RI-uh-sus) is a disease which affects the skin and joints. It commonly causes red scaly patches to appear on the skin. The scaly patches caused by psoriasis, called psoriatic plaques, are areas of inflammation and excessive skin production. Skin rapidly accumulates at these sites and takes a silvery-white appearance. Plaques frequently occur on the skin of the elbows and knees, but can affect any area including the scalp and genitals. Psoriasis is hypothesized to be immune-mediated[1][2] and is not contagious.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors:

Pleurisy may develop when you have lung inflammation due to infections such as pneumonia or tuberculosis. It may also occur with rheumatic diseases, chest trauma, certain cancers, and asbestos-related disease.

Certain infections (upper respiratory infections like strep throat)

Various prescription drugs (lithium, propranolol, quinidine, and indomethacin)

Causes Of Psoriasis, treating psoriasis

Symptoms of Psoriasis

Chest pain when coughing,

Fever, Rapid shallow breathing, andd iscomfort when touching the affected area, even lightly.

If symptoms continue for more than a few days or you have breathing difficulties, you should see your GP.

You may also have other symptoms because of the disease or condition that is causing your pleurisy. For example, if it’s a common cold that is causing your pleurisy other symptoms could include headaches, a sore throat and coughing.

Sudden, sharp chest pain that gets worse when you breathe in deeply or cough
Shortness of breath

Psoriasis is most common on the knees, elbows and scalp, but can appear anywhere on the body.

Some people with psoriasis become withdrawn and don’t socialise or form relationships because of the way people react to the appearance of their skin.

Treatment of Psoriasis

There is no particular treatment for pleurisy because it is usually the result of an infection or other condition. However, ibuprofen or aspirin can ease the inflammation around the chest area and relieve pain and discomfort.

Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) — These drugs, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, may relieve muscle and joint pain as well as arthritis.

Munomodulating Drugs — These drugs, such as Imuran, Cellcept, Methotrexate and Cytoxan, suppress the immune system. They may allow a reduction in the dose of corticosteroids.

Pleurisy Treatment with Violet Flowers

Violet tea is very good to treat pleurisy as it has more vitamin A than any known plant. Chop 1 tablespoon of violet leaves, flowers, and stems. Pour 1 cup boiling water over the herb and allow steeping, covered, 10 minutes. Strain and sweeten with sugar. Drink as often as desired. Violets are also a great relaxant and this will help to keep the patient calm.

Psoriasis Information

Psoriasis is a non-contagious chronic disorder that usually manifests in the genetically predisposed individuals in a form of scaly plaques on the skin.

The exact causes of psoriasis are unknown, but multiple studies show that .some genes, which are transferred genetically from the parents, may predispose to the appearance of psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis in particular.

2-3% of the world population has psoriasis.

People with psoriasis often experience inferiority complexes due to their skin psoriasis manifestations. The insufficient public awareness as well as the psoriasis resemblance to some other contagious diseases, such as a ring warm, may cause a person with psoriasis to be stared at by the people without psoriasis.
Psoriasis Information,psoriasis treatments
Even though psoriasis brings a lot of discomfort to the psoriasis sufferers, psoriasis seems to also bring certain important benefits.

Recently I have carried out an extensive research to see if there were any beneficial deviations in the people with psoriasis when compared to the people without psoriasis.

I have discovered that the most notable deviation is the high level of uric acid in the blood serum of the people with psoriasis, which is around 30% higher than in the blood serum of the people without psoriasis.

Scientists suggest that the uric acid possesses natural stimulating properties for the Central Nervous System, similar to that of caffeine. Uric acid by its chemical composition is also similar to caffeine.

Caffeine is one of the artificial stimulants of the Central Nervous System. When I say artificial, I mean that caffeine does not naturally occur in our bodies. Caffeine found in plants, such as coffee, cocoa and tea, and it is consumed with foods or beverages. Caffeine is a stimulant for the Central Nervous System in humans and other animals.

The main difference between the caffeine and uric acid is that uric acid, unlike caffeine, is a substance produced naturally by our bodies themselves.

Scientists have long ago revealed that uric acid possesses a natural stimulating effect on the Central Nervous System, capable of improving the intellectual and the physical activity of a human.

Multiple studies have shown that that people with high levels of uric acid also have a higher level of intellectual activity and a faster perception-reaction response.

What benefit does the high level of uric acid possess for the people with psoriasis? May high uric acid levels provide the people with psoriasis with a 100% natural stimulant, similar to the one which hundreds of millions of people consume on a daily basis in the form of coffee and tea?

Of course, those are merely my own hypotheses, but my conclusions have some reliable grounds in the form of various studies.

People with psoriasis should learn, that they may possess certain benefits when compared to the other people, such as a higher level of intellectual and physical activity, possible protection from the degenerative Central Nervous System disorders, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and Schizophrenia, a possible protection from a stroke, and a possibly extended lifespan

Swollen Joints Cause Psoriasis Pain

Psoriasis Pain
Causing substantial amounts of pain to psoriatic arthritis sufferers, swelling in the joints is one of the most obvious symptoms related to this condition. Besides being painful, this swelling also leads to patchy skin.

Since psoriatic arthritis is related to psoriasis and therefore can be responsible for other health problems throughout the body, including issues in the scalp, knees, and elbows and the appearance of lesions on the fingers and toenails. Swollen fingers and swollen toes are also commonly seen in psoriatic arthritis sufferers.

Unknown Causes
Although researchers have come to believe that contracting psoriatic arthritis seems to be linked to a person’s living environment and their genes, the specific causes of psoriatic arthritis are still not fully understood by doctors. It is important for an individual who begins to notice symptoms commonly associated with psoriatic arthritis to visit their doctor and find out whether or not their symptoms are indeed related to this disease.

Diagnosing psoriatic arthritis can be done by a doctor after they have conducted a physical examination that could involve taking x-rays and doing blood tests. Doing these tests will allow the doctor conducting them to determine with more certainty whether or not they are being caused by psoriatic arthritis or some other disorder. It is always better to visit your doctor as soon as possible so that you can begin to treat your symptoms properly.
The nails, joints, and skin are usually affected in a negative way by psoriatic arthritis.

Even though this type of arthritis will not cause swelling in every joint of the body, you can expect that a large number of joints will become red, get hot, and ache. This can also occur in the feet, knees, and ankles.

When psoriatic arthritis symptoms are noticed in a patient’s toes and finger they could lead to the entire digit swelling up and start to resemble a sausage. Still, the symptoms are most noticeable when the joints start to turn stiff and this stiffness is most pronounced in the mornings. Other psoriatic arthritis symptoms include inflamed spine, stiffened buttocks and stiffness in the neck, lower back as well as upper back.

If a doctor does diagnose you with psoriatic arthritis, you will have several different treatment options available to you. Some are simple self-help treatments while others involve taking medication that has been specially designed to treat psoriatic arthritis.

Remember that there are other negative symptoms that psoriatic arthritis can cause apart from swelling of the joint; acne can form, nails can change, tendonitis can occur, and the lungs, eyes, and aorta can swell.

Psoriasis Essential Oils

Oils an Psoriasis Essential Oilsd fats are often used both in topical and internal psoriasis treatment.

Are any oils or fats really good for psoriasis? If yes, then how do we use them – internally or topically?

From the dietary point of view, our body needs all types of natural fat. But do we get enough of each? And maybe we get too much of some?

All fat (including fat in oils) has two main subcategories – unsaturated and saturated fat.

SATURATED FAT

Rich in saturated fat are: animal fats, coconut and palm kernel oils.

diet and psoriasis

Saturated fat is needed for the integrity of our cellular membranes, it plays a major role in the calcium incorporation into our bones, and it protects the liver from various toxins.

The only problem is – in our everyday diet we get more saturated fats than we need. Too much of saturated fat serves us as a fifth wheel – there is no benefit in it at all.Psoriasis Treatment , psoriasis essential oils

Therefore there is no need to raise your dietary intake of the saturated fats in order to improve your psoriasis.

However, the topical application of the saturated fats – i.e. the Coconut oil, which consist of about 90% saturated fat – is reported to be very beneficial for psoriasis. Mainly due to its high saturated fat content, Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer and softener for psoriasis.

UNSATURATED FAT

There are 3 main unsaturated fats: Omega-3 unsaturated essential fatty acid, Omega-6 unsaturated essential fatty acid and Omega-9 unsaturated non-essential fatty acid.

Essential in the case of fats means that our body can not produce such fat itself, and therefore it has to be obtained from a diet. Non-essential means that our body can produce such fat on its own.

OMEGA-9 FATS

Omega-9 is also essential for various functions in our bodies, including the overall body cell health. Do we get enough of Omega-9 with our diets? Yes, actually more than enough: with canola oil, olive oil, and many other cooking oils.

Do we need more of Omega-9 in our diet in order to improve our psoriasis? I doubt it. Remember the fifth wheel?

Is the topical application of Omega-9 beneficial for psoriasis?

Omega-9 – for example in Olive oil – decreases the scaling of the skin, which is very beneficial for psoriasis.

Omega-9 – in Castor oil – penetrates deep into the skin, moisturizes it and reduces the skin inflammation, which is also very beneficial for psoriasis.

OMEGA-6 FATS

Omega-6 is also vital for our bodies: it improves the blood properties, it is important for the good health of cell membranes and for a proper cellular metabolism.

The richest in Omega-6 are evening primrose oil, grape seed oil, palm, soybean, rapeseed and sunflower oils, as well as eggs, nuts and many other foods.

We also tend to get more than enough of this vital fat in our diets.

What about topical Omega-6 application for psoriasis?

Omega-6 (i.e. in the evening primrose oil or the sunflower oil) helps to coat the skin and helps the skin to stay well moisturized. It also helps to somewhat accelerate the healing of the damaged skin.

OMEGA-3 FATS

The richest in Omega-3 are fatty Fish oil and Cod liver oil.

Omega-3 is the only fat that we do not get enough of in our diets!

Both topically and internally Omega-3 fatty acid helps to treat the skin inflammation and dryness, associated with psoriasis.

CONCLUSION:

We get enough of each fat, except for the Omega-3 in our diets. Omega-3 is very beneficial for psoriasis and therefore adding it into the diet in a form of fish oil or a cod liver oil supplement could really improve the state of psoriasis.

Topically various fats and oils work different for different people with psoriasis. Try it for yourself and maybe one of the fats or oils will work wonders for your topical psoriasis maintenance.
